Giving Back in Remembrance

About the Tunnel to Towers Foundation
The nonprofit was founded in honor of firefighter Stephen Siller, who lost his life during the events of 9/11. He had finished his shift when the first plane hit the North Tower and heroically drove back to help. When the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel was blocked, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers. "We have time, let us do good" was a guiding philosophy, from St. Francis of Assisi, that he lived by—one the foundation continues today by supporting first responders, military veterans, and their families with mortgage-free homes, financial assistance, and more.
